JoPACC signs an MOU with JEDCO to facilitate the training of farmers on the use of mobile wallets
In an effort to expand the umbrella of financial inclusion, increase integration with various sectors, and enhance cooperation with governmental institutions, JoPACC signed an MOU with Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) to provide training, awareness materials and technical assistance to farmers who are part of JEDCO’s rural economic development and employment project that is implemented in Ajloun, Jarash, Al Balqa, Madaba and Al Mafraq. Within the frame of this collaboration, JoPACC has produced awareness materials that target farmers and address their financial needs. It has further developed an educational demo wallet that is designed specifically for farmers. In the first stage, JoPACC has trained JEDCO team on mobile wallets; how they can be registered, their main use cases and features, fees for financial transactions and their limits, and companies that offer this service, highlighting the role of the Central Bank of Jordan in licensing and overseeing these companies and protecting citizens' funds.
In the next stage, JoPACC will hold a training of trainers (TOT), who will lead the training of the farmers, and provide them with required training materials, in addition to the educational demo wallet that familiarizes farmers with the steps of accessing the wallet and making transactions. JoPACC will further assist JEDCO with any technical issue farmers may face to ensure the smooth usage of the wallets.
