JoPACC, through JOIN Fincubator Launched the Green Fintech Innovation Challenge: Empowering MSMEs
JoPACC, through JOIN Fincubator, in partnership with GIZ, launched the Green Fintech Innovation Challenge: Empowering MSMEs. This challenge invites visionary participants to present transformative ideas within the green finance space, contributing to Jordan’s journey toward sustainability. The challenge calls for innovative solutions that address environmental goals a broader green finance concepts, whether developing new financing models, eco-friendly investment tools, or technologies that support sustainable growth to advancing Jordan’s financial sector toward a greener, more inclusive future. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for prizes worth up to 100,000 JOD, with the potential for implementation of the proof of concept (POC) with one of the financial institutions in Jordan.
The Green Fintech Challenge aims to foster the creation of scalable green finance solutions, encourage sustainable practices in financial services that positively impact people, communities, and the environment, and motivate financial institutions to integrate green finance and sustainability into their operations.
The challenge will focus on areas such as Green Digital Payment and Account Solutions, Digital Green Data and Analytics Solutions, Green Digital Deposit and Lending Solutions, and Green Regtech Solutions. Participants are also welcome to develop solutions in other relevant areas, excluding marketplace solutions.
The challenge consists of two phases. Phase 1 begins with an open call for applications, followed by the submission process. Shortlisted candidates will then be selected and invited to pitch their ideas. Phase 2 includes 1:1 meetings, final discussions, and submissions, leading up to the announcement of the winner. The challenge will conclude with the implementation of the POC.
To participate in the challenge, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: Companies or startups that are registered in Jordan with a working product (excluding resellers or solution distributors), companies or startups not yet registered in Jordan but with a Jordanian founder (who must register the company within 60 days from the winner announcement date), or Jordanian startups with a working MVP (which must be able to implement the POC within 60 days and register the company in Jordan). Additionally, teams should demonstrate proven experience in green finance, sustainability, and related fields, with the capacity to develop and implement their ideas effectively.
